What is SYNTHETIC OIL?

Synthetic oil is used as a substitute for lubricant refined from petroleum.  It provides superior mechanical and chemical properties than those found in traditional oils.

What are the advantages of using SYNTHETIC OIL?

The advantages of synthetic motor oils include:

• Measurably better low and high temperature viscosity performance
• Better chemical & shear stability
• Decreased evaporative loss
• Resistance to oxidation, thermal breakdown, and oil sludge problems
• Extended drain intervals with the benefit of less oil waste
• Improved fuel economy
• Better lubrication on cold starts

What is the cost to me?

Synthetic oil costs are usually two to four times greater than petroleum-based oils; but since customer loyalty and retention is our top priority, Five Towns Nissan will not pass on the additional costs to its Service Rewards (Embassy Award) program participants.

What will the service intervals be with SYNTHETIC OIL?

10,000 miles or 10 months, whichever comes first

Why should I care?

As the northeast's largest volume Nissan dealer group, with locations in New York and New Jersey, this effort may allow us to cut unnecessary annual oil consumption by about 12,000 quarts or 3,000 gallons of imported oil.  That means less oil waste that has a negative impact on our environment, and less money going overseas that has a negative impact on our economy and national security.
